Chillers matched to the job, not the other way around

Industrial cooling is not one-size-fits-all. A laser line in Alberton has very different needs to a moulding plant in Durban or a process line running through the heat of a Pretoria summer. We size and select each chiller to suit the actual load, the water temperature you need, and how steady the duty cycle is through the shift.

That means looking at the machine's heat output, flow rate, ambient conditions and the quality of the water going through the system. If the plant has long running hours, frequent starts and stops or tight temperature tolerances, the cooling package needs to be set up properly from the beginning.

Where industrial water chillers are used

Our chillers and cooling units are used across manufacturing and processing sites where temperature control protects product quality and equipment life. Common applications include laser systems, mould temperature control and process lines that cannot afford drifting temperatures during production.

  • Laser cutting and marking systems
  • Injection moulding and tooling circuits
  • Process water cooling on production lines
  • Packaged equipment with dedicated cooling loops
  • Temporary cooling during maintenance or changeover

In coastal areas like Cape Town and Durban, salt air and humidity can put extra strain on equipment housings and controls. Inland sites such as Johannesburg, Rustenburg and Pretoria often deal with dust, higher daytime temperatures and power interruptions, so the cooling setup needs to cope with those conditions too.

How to choose the right chiller for your plant

The right choice depends on more than capacity alone. A unit that is too small will struggle under load, while an oversized machine can short cycle and waste power. We help clients choose equipment with the correct reserve, control accuracy and service access for the site layout.

  • Thermal load and operating hours
  • Water temperature setpoint and tolerance
  • Indoor or outdoor installation conditions
  • Water quality, filtration and corrosion risk
  • Available power supply and load-shedding backup planning

For plants with unstable supply, we can plan for temporary cooling or staged operation so production does not stop while repairs or upgrades are carried out. It saves time and avoids unnecessary product loss.

Installation, commissioning and handover

A chiller only performs well when it is installed correctly. Our team handles installation, system commissioning and final checks so the equipment is ready for daily use. We work from Alrode in Alberton and support sites through Johannesburg, Pretoria, Germiston, Boksburg, Durban, Cape Town and Rustenburg.

During commissioning, we verify flow, pressure, temperature settings and safety controls. If pipework needs adjusting, we can carry out retrofits and make sure the cooling circuit is neat, serviceable and suited to the plant's actual layout. We also provide operator training so your team knows the daily checks and what warning signs to watch for.

Servicing that keeps cooling dependable

Preventative maintenance is the best way to avoid breakdowns in the middle of a production run. Our service team handles routine inspections, breakdown repairs, refrigeration repairs, pump replacements, control panel upgrades and water treatment checks. If a unit is underperforming, we can carry out a cooling audit to find the cause.

  • Checking refrigerant performance and electrical controls
  • Cleaning strainers, filters and heat exchange surfaces
  • Testing pumps, valves and flow protection
  • Inspecting water quality for scale, dirt and corrosion
  • Replacing worn components before they fail

Good maintenance matters even more in dusty workshops and humid coastal plants, where heat transfer surfaces can foul faster than expected. A small service issue can become a costly stop if it is left too long.

Local support from Alberton to the major industrial centres
